Who tf sends ads to loved ones?
I exclusively send ads to my old bosses and other people I donāt like
I get so irate when people sing jingles at me. It was fucking everyone I knew growing upā classmates, family, everyone but maybe one friend. And only because we didnāt sing or do anything whimsical. Why do people enjoy advertising at me? At least they could try to get paid for shoveling [product] at me, but it doesnāt even register. Iād long ago given up trying to express that I would like to avoid being advertised at. Its just something fun to do to eachother! We sing the corporate jingle and we all have a laugh! Wow! What an interesting way of thinking! Lets go buy [product]!
Youāre provably over 40? There used to be a lot fewer channels, and less things to buy (less ads total) so more people would see an individual ad.
You mean like Musk throwing a rock at an āunbreakableā window?

That was genuinely and embarrassment for him, and probably hurt cyber truck sales. More like, sharing his vilr racist tweets or video of him performing a Nazi salute
Nobody in the world bought cubic truck based on itās merits. Itās an ideological purchase, and nothing those goobers do or say changes their camp, so it canāt hurt or boost the sales.
Recently an ad caught my eye by showing somebody putting mustard and ketchup on the shoes on their feet. I have no clue what they were selling.
Whatās your opinion on sharing good ads? www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXP3C5Kg-7w

Apparently this is the same guy from āStop drinking, becomes good for societyā advert.
āThis ad annoys me, which makes me not want to buy the product! Hey everyone, isnāt this ad annoying?ā
Look, this politician says really stupid things. Letās all point out how stupid he is, share it, comment on it and boost it in any possible way.
My preferred curse for journalism is that every time they announce the statement of someone totally unqualified, like Trump, they must also announce the statement of someone equally unqualified, like a drunkard on the street who believes theyāre all lizard people that were sent by the Egyptian pharoahs.
I mean, I was hoping we could give genuinely intelligent people and educated experts more of a platform, but I guess that works too.
Nowadays itās ālook at this ugly AI image someone madeā
But these ads definitely donāt work on me because Iām just built different š¤
They donāt work on me because Iām actually just a highly condensed ball of plasma and rage in a trenchcoat.
āThese donāt work on me because I donāt have any friends, connections, or value!ā
Also I worked in advertising. They really donāt work on me and completely have the opposite effect.
i hate to be the person giving them exposure, but at the point where they went through bbc and nyt, i donāt think that few people on lemmy make a differenceā¦

Converse pulls ādeeply upsettingā advert after backlash
The Converse name is seen on a storefront at an airport in Singapore earlier this monthGetty Images A photo posted on Converseās Instagram account was described as evoking KKK imagery
American footwear brand Converse has pulled an advert that social media users said evoked Ku Klux Klan imagery, saying it recognised āthat we got this wrongā.
The photo, posted to the companyās Instagram account, received backlash online after critics described lighting in the image as looking like a white pointed hood.
A pair of shoes, dangling in the picture, were also likened to an image of a lynching victim by social media users.
