Less Cars On the Road Soon?

I hate cars too but can someone explain how I can get around the US without public transport? Y’all are trying to lynch anyone that drives but some of us can’t ride a horse to visit our parents??
Take a train to the nearest train station, then have your parents pick you up. If your parents live in the middle of nowhere and need unorthodox transport, then leverage the unorthodox transportat they already own.
This is after the US completes a base level of unfucking their complete lack of alternatives to car transport of course.

Y’all are trying to lynch
jfc get a grip.
The solution is public transport trolleys and trains.

Would you get mad if parking spots were taken away to put up a bike lane? Would you be mad if an extra lane was taken away to put in public transportation? If you answer yes to these 2 questions you don’t hate cars enough…
This community doesn’t want to lynch people who drive, we don’t fucking want cars to take up 100% of our space especially in cities!
There’s no public parking anymore anyways but I’m not sure how people 40 minutes from the city could bike easily in America but I’m sure you’ve got more wisdom to shove down our throat over it.
So employers will embrace work from home, right?

Lmfao nope Trump will expect people to sleep at work, like in China 😂😂
Libs gonna car brain until the planet is completely destroyed.
Gotta hand it to him, he’s done much more than any other person towards green and renewable energy and the reduction of cars and pollution. By crippling the economy and incentivizing other countries to go fully green and independent of energy coming from coal or oil. Several news have shown hydrogen power, solar, wind and atomic energy making headways. More EVs sold than combustion ones in Australia for example. More EV trucks as well. Similarly, there was an article about places in NewYork with no cars… No noise, no deadly accidents, no tire pollution, no lack of space due to parking, and use of public transportation. ETC. He is winning at being the worse thing that could ever happen to the economy.

Unfortunately, the reason why gas didn’t triple in price is because China started burning more coal instead of gas.
I live in Oklahoma and I have been having a lot of fun telling everyone that trimp is a woke plant to trick everyone into driving EV’s.
Don’t care m8.

Would’ve been cooler if it wasn’t a stock photo
But it is a nice photo

Okay Gav Gav, what the fuck are you gonna do differently than Trump?
Dude wants to make oil cheaper so people can drive more. It’s the liberal car brain dream.
its weird because the busses in san diego are actually pretty good, and they have the sprinter from up north, we could just start extending that system throughout the rest of cali

It’s hard not to act smug when you’re an EV driver these days
Swasticar?

Nah I wouldn’t be caught dead in one. Chevy Bolt
Smug for driving a car? Imagine biking or taking public transport.

I wish we had such options
But yes I would feel even smugger
I bought a cheap used EV at the beginning of july. A 40 kwh Nissan Leaf. I was really nervous about the idea of daily driving an EV, but I knew I’d figure it out if I just got one and forced myself to. I felt like I was making a potentially really bad decision.
This has not been the case. I plug in at home and charge midnight-6am for 8¢ per kwh. I leave at 100% and get home with ~50%, while running the AC in 105 degree heat. I’ve fast charged it twice, once because I wanted to see how it worked, the second time to show my wife how it worked. I’ve never needed a fast charger.
It’s like driving a normal car, except it’s cheaper, quieter, smoother, faster, (for at least the first 100 feet) and I don’t have to burn almost a gallon of gas each way back and forth to work.
I wish I could have bought one sooner.

Yep. I got a Bolt EUV for a decent price and love it.
I live in an apartment though with no home charging. I’d hasn’t proved a problem for me though because there’s fast chargers 5 minutes away from work and I like to sit in my car on lunch break anyway lol. So I just charge on my lunch break once a week and I’m set. It’s about half what I spent in gas per month! It would be around a quarter if I could home charge.
Next month gonna take a 2000mi road trip in it! Bolts charge really slow so it kinda makes me regret not getting a Hyundai with way faster charging but eh, I take like tow of these trips a decade. What’s a couple extra hours? Besides 2.5hrs of driving then 50 minutes of charge/nap time could be a nice cadence.

Wish hard.

Not until people have real alternative commutes

You’re not counting the scenario in which houses that are stranded in some “suburbia” will crash in value and those places will be slowly abandoned.
One could hope. Maybe an investment in rail to those areas and more mixed use zoning to turn them back into old train stop towns were.
The cost of the house won’t reduce by more than the cost of a BEV though.
Detroitisation but not because of loosing employers + degradation of city services but because it’s impractical / too expensive to live in the suburbs. Interesting idea.

Well the question that remains is how much will this Iran war break the oil economy. I think the time will come when people will be forced to take alternative commutes. That’s how big of a disaster is present on the horizon.
Or maybe I’m just wishing we have a complete fuel shortage to enjoy car free living for a bit?
I think the time will come when people will be forced to take alternative commutes.
Alternative commutes do not exist in most of USA.
