All this time during my transition (2.5 years of HRT and plenty of laser sessions) I haven't experienced any aggression or rejection in form of transphobia from people around me. I also haven't experienced any men making advances towards me (except that one drunk guy from a safe distance where I'm not even sure if he could discern who or what he was flirting with), the occasional look sure but nothing more.
So now I'm wondering:
Am I just lucky?
Am I not passing as well as I thought (and "don't look trans enough" at the same time)?
Am I passing well and people are just scared to approach me?
Is it that this just doesn't happen as often here in Germany as in other countries (the US for example, where I'm reading about this the most)?
Am I not pretty enough to be approached like this?
Am I too old to be approached like this?
On the one hand I'm glad that I don't experience stuff like this, the transphobia especially, of course. But the other hand the other things I mentioned can kind of feel validating and it can sting that other trans women get approached by men left and right as soon as they start transitioning (I might be exagerating a bit) and I'm not, it makes me feel like something is wrong, you know?
And it's not like I'm only sitting at home. I regularly travel alone to a big city to play Magic at a store or to go out eating.
Feel free to tell me I'm wrong or right or whatever.
