I saw Ray Bradbury at SF Conventions for years, usually the Los Angeles LASFS convention. Instantly recognizable, but even though I was a grown-ass man, with a job and a family, I could not bring myself to talk to him. He was an heroic figure to me; not to be sullied by a mere mortal such as myself. But now I wish I had.
