I have never understood how five guys stays in business, literally one of the worst cheeseburgers I have ever had in my life and it cost more than the place down the street from me that uses all local ingredients.

I love 5 guys burgers, but it’s closer to a $6-8 burger than an $18 burger. The price doesn’t meet the quality. I haven’t been back in years because I can get a double at Culver’s for half the price.

culver’s actually is one of the worst burgers i’ve ever had. maybe they’re better in wisconsin, but the ones i’ve had elsewhere were bone dry and tasted burned every single time.

20 years ago it was the best in the game. Rapid expansion and prioritizing profit over quality turned it to shit.

Just checked 5 guys prices: Cheeseburger fries and drink will cost AT LEAST 27 dollars.
Imaging paying over 50 dollars for two people for less than 9 dollars worth of raw ingredients, and only pennies of it are going to the folks doing the very hard work behind the counter.
I feel ill.

It was a decent place over a decade ago when they hooked you up with tons of fries and prices were not as crazy. But yeah, I haven’t been there in years.

They still give you tons of fries, at least they do at my local place. Unfortunately, for me it meant so much grease that my bag ripped at the bottom as I was walking into my house.

Some of this is really egregious. The top firms on this list shorted their workers by over £1,000. That’s not pocket change.
This, however, is music to my ears:
More than 600 employers were ordered to pay affected workers the outstanding wages, with £4m returned to workers, according to the Department for Business and Trade.
The firms have also been issued penalties worth £7m.
