Among many things I hate in the "gig economy" is how they want you to review your person, but anything less than 5 stars is basically a vote to fire them. Because if their average rating drops below like 4.5, they're banned. Like say my Uber driver is ... Fine. Not great, maybe they talk too much, someone left some trash in the back seat, they made a wrong turn, but they got me there in one piece, safely, and it wasn't all that bad, I'm still going to give them 5 stars. Because I don't want them fired for little annoyances like that, even if they could have been better.

When the cops do a search warrant on your house, it doesn't even matter whether you're guilty or not. They're going to pound on your door at 6AM, flood the place, toss everything in your home around, take every single device with a CPU, all your paperwork, your bills, your bank statements, everything, stuff it in boxes and haul it away where you won't get any of it back for months, if ever.

I can't even imagine trying to cold boot my entire digital life if every one of my devices is gone with all my MFA factors gone poof. I wouldn't know which bills have been paid. All of my backups gone. Everything.

And they can do that just because someone made "an anonymous tip" or "you communicated with a person of interest" or "you were at a particular location at the same time as someone else we're watching was". Whatever.

It seems like every time I leave the room for a few minutes my dog will have changed sleeping positions, gotten comfortable, and gone back to sleep like nothing happened. Come in the room, she's asleep on the couch facing the window. Go make some lunch, come back, she's asleep on the couch facing the wall. Go back into my office to grab my phone, she's on the floor facing the door, go put the dishes away, and she's back on the couch facing the other wall. She's like one of the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who.
